As noted on the cover this was designed as "A Book for Early Readers". Steve Willis drew this (and several others) for the Olympia School District not long after he graduated from high school.
Of special note is the appearance of one character, Odd Dog, who is sort of a prototype for Morty the Dog, who wasn't birthed until a couple years later (the resemblance is identical except for a spotted eye).
